| Andamento | Interior movement specific to a mosaic. |
| Interstice | Space separating the tesserae ones. |
| Mosaïque | To assemble various elements (tesserae) to create an image. |
| Opus | Manner of laying out tesserae the ones beside the other. |
| Opus circumactum | Opus in which the tesserae ones are laid out in range. |
| Opus incertum | Opus in which the tesserae ones are cut and placed randomly. |
| Opus lapilli | Opus characteristic of the mosaics carried out with small round stones. |
